In class the grade 5 and 6 kids are doing the 100 word challenge. These are the prompts that we have used:

this is my short story:
I was running fast ,I mean really fast my heart was thumping like the beat of a drum. It felt like I was competing with a herd of elephants,I was running away from a crazy monkey that wanted to take the cracker out of my pocket. The monkey looked like a black shadow racing towards me. I paused and hid behind a tree, the monkey did not see me at all it was keeping his mind on the cracker so I just through the cracker on it. The monkey stopped and looked around but never saw me. So it ran back into the forest where it belongs.

I really enjoyed reading your story. It is really interesting and descriptive. The start is great and it makes me want to keep reading. My favourite part was when the monkey runs away. I used the prompt, this is how it happened. How many words did your story have? Was it more or less than 100? Did you enjoy taking part in the 100 word challenge?

Thankyou for commenting on my blog.I really do enjoy doing the 100 word challenge and I also enjoyed taking part in it to.I had 109 words in my story it is pretty close to 100 words.
